An overview of Austria's most beautiful ski resorts in the Alps:

Zell am See-Kaprun:

The Zell am See-Kaprun ski area combines 41 km of Kitzsteinhorn glacier fun, 77 km of ski pistes above the lakeside resort of Zell am See, and 20 km of groomed slopes and fun for the whole family on Kaprun’s very own family mountain, ‘Maiskogel’.

For expert skiers, the Kitzsteinhorn glacier at 3,000 metres above sea level, together with Zell am See’s Schmittenhöhe mountain offer steep slopes and spectacular descents. Whether freeriding or freestyle, the Kitzsteinhorn also offers ungroomed ski slopes, deep powder snow and spectacular fun parks for all levels of ability.

The ski bus commutes between the ski areas, and with a valid ski pass, you travel for free!

Skicircus Saalbach-Hinterglemm-Leogang-Fieberbrunn:

More than 270 km of perfectly groomed slopes, 70 state-of-the-art lifts and cable cars, 10 km of groomed cross-country trails, snowparks, movie ski runs, speed courses, a Learn-To-Ride Park, the ‘playgroundSNOW’, race courses, carving runs, slopes with moguls, floodlit ski runs, toboggan runs, 60 cosy ski lodges and much more await you at the Home of ‘Lässig’: all things pretty cool! Snow-making machines at the side of the main downhill runs mean that snow is guaranteed. There are also over 30 WLAN hotspots throughout the ski circuit. All hotspots can be found on the WLANmap. Inflated data roaming bills are a thing of the past!

Come March, an alternative, mega-thrill presents itself at Leogang: the Flying Fox XXL, one of the fastest and longest zip wires in the world. Enjoy!

Gastein:

Along with Dorfgastein-Großarl, Stubnerkogel-Angertal-Schlossalm, Graukogel and Sportgastein, Gastein forms part of the Ski Amadé circuit, offering more than 220 km of ski runs, serviced by ultra-modern lift facilities. From family runs, carving trails and freerides to mogul and powder runs, there is something for everyone. And with Sportgastein boasting the highest top station at an altitude of 2,700 m, snow is guaranteed.

The KitzSki ski area:

The Kitzbühel-Kirchberg ski region has already been voted ‘Best ski resort in the world’ four times. Lying between 800 and 2,000 m, the unforgettable, natural beauty of the Kitzbüheler Horn, Hahnenkamm, Pengelstein and Resterhöhe is incomparable. From the legendary ‘Streif’ to perfect beginner slopes, the Kitzbühel ski region offers 54 comfortable lifts serving more than 179 km of superbly groomed ski slopes, as well as 36 km of marked ski routes. Relax and enjoy the tasty cuisine in one of over fifty cosy mountain huts located directly by the side of the ski slopes. Meanwhile, down in the valley, beginners and those taking up skiing again can enjoy free use of the practice lifts!

Hochkönig ski area:

The Hochkönig ski area is extensive, friendly and youthful. It is no surprise that holidaymakers return to this white paradise year after year. Ski or snowboard to your heart’s content, weave effortlessly through powder snow, soak up the winter sun and let the waft of freshly prepared ‘Kaiserschmarrn’ (emperor’s pancake) tempt you. Up here, at the ‘summit of emotions’, mountain personnel, together with 32 state-of-the-art lifts leading to 120 km of connected ski pistes, ensure glorious days of skiing between the Maria Alm, Dienten and Mühlbach areas.

Kaprun surroundings:

The Nagelkopf adventure mountain in Piesendorf is a veritable insider's tip - a paradise for children of all ages. Sports and action are the order of the day: snow tubing, trampolining, tobogganing and ‘Zipflbob’ (a mini, plastic slide or bob for one) guarantee tremendous winter fun. The Salzburg Super Ski Card and the Kaprun-Zell am See lift pass, if bought for a minimum of 2 days, cover skiers and snowboarders from 09.00 to 16.00 on the Adventure Mountain Naglköpfl.

All the ski resorts stand out not only for their modern lifts and snowmaking facilities, but also for the many different mountain huts and restaurants which serve traditional local, and international, specialities.
