Mozart and the "Sound of Music" are always perceptible - not only in the city of Salzburg but also in the mountain resorts - the Trapp family, for instance, had strong link to the Zell am See Kaprun area as they lived here for a while.
The cultural diversity also includes a contemporary perspective. Numerous exhibitions, galleries, concerts and festivals such as the Jazzfestival Saalfelden or the Summer Jazz Gastein present high-quality events.

A completely different event in the winter is the "Art on Snow" festival in Gastein. Across the villages and the mountain slopes artists create various art-work in sight of the public. The highlights are then presented in the unique exhibition "ARt of(f Party" afterwards.
