The lively resort of Kaprun is at the foot of the Kitzsteinhorn, one of the top addresses in the European tourism. Figurehead of the village Kaprun, with his centuries old, moving stories, is the ancient castle Kaprun. The in the 12th Century on a rocky ridge dominating built castle, was completely restored in 1975. It is still the site of many cultural events. Eye-catcher is the east tower which was built in the Romanesque style 'Turn Chaprunne ze'. He should have been built as compensation for the abuses of Velber.
